Science of Fresh is a scientist-led publication covering odour chemistry, cleaning science, product mechanisms, and household freshness. Our editorial standards exist to keep that work accurate, transparent, and commercially disclosed.
Evidence hierarchy
- Primary technical evidence: Safety Data Sheets, product labels, manufacturer technical data, regulatory documentation, and published scientific literature.
- Consumer evidence: verified owner reports, recurring review patterns, and relevant community discussions used to identify real-world friction.
- Editorial judgement: our interpretation of mechanism fit, safety trade-offs, value, and suitability for specific household use cases.
Citation and claims policy
Technical claims must be attributable. We do not invent missing concentrations, ASINs, regulatory approvals, laboratory results, or product specifications. If a product’s SDS gives a range rather than an exact figure, we describe it as an SDS-declared range.
Affiliate and product inclusion policy
Some articles include Amazon affiliate links. Product inclusion is based on relevance, availability, market prominence, distinctive chemistry, and reader usefulness. A higher commission does not justify a better recommendation.
Own-brand and conflict policy
Bodhi & Digby Ltd owns Science of Fresh and also owns or develops related product brands, including AromaShield. When those products appear, we disclose the relationship clearly and compare them using the same criteria as third-party products.
Use of AI assistance
AI tools may assist with drafting, structure, formatting, and summarising source notes. They do not replace scientific review. Technical claims, commercial disclosures, and final editorial decisions are reviewed by the Science of Fresh editorial team before publication.
